Basketball Recap: West Oaks Academy Comes Up Short

West Oaks Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They fell 77-67 to the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (62), the Flame still had to take the loss.

As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.2 points this season.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Toni Bryant, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. The game was Bryant's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Treymaine Belanger was another key player, dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds.

Coming up, West Oaks Academy will take on Miami Country Day at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elite Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 3.
