Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Lincoln Christian Crusaders

The Lincoln Northwest Falcons will take on the Lincoln Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Northwest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Lincoln Northwest came up short against Aurora and fell 51-40. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Huskies are ranked 24th).

Despite their loss, Lincoln Northwest saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Corsean Phillippi, who posted seven points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Thanks to that strong game, Phillippi now owns an excellent 44.4% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Stepanyuk, who put up 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Christian didn't have too much trouble with Beatrice on Tuesday as they won 64-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Lincoln Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Lincoln Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Lincoln Northwest was dealt a bruising 78-50 loss at the hands of Lincoln Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024.
