Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-8 loss at the hands of the Loretto Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 44th).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sadie Sandrell, who posted six points.

Ally Weathers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Loretto, putting up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Augustin, who put up ten points.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Loretto, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Mt. Pleasant will face off against Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loretto, they will take on Battle Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
