Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Hamilton Huskies

The Sunnyslope Vikings will square off against the Hamilton Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyslope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Sunnyslope is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They breezed past Paradise Honors to the tune of 64-27. Sunnyslope's victory was all the more impressive since the Panthers were averaging only 29.56 points allowed on the season.

Sunnyslope's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackie Wentworth, who went 6-for-7 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. What's more, Wentworth also posted three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Teagan McIlroy was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and five assists.

Sunnyslope was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise Honors only racked up nine assists.

Meanwhile, Hamilton earned a 53-40 victory over Mesa on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Sunnyslope, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Sunnyslope, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-46 loss to Hamilton when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Sunnyslope avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
