Baseball Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

Leland fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Soquel on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Leland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Canter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Sean Nguyen-Fell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Leland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Soquel, the win keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Looking ahead, Leland will head out to take on Christopher at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Soquel, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Santa Cruz at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Soquel 2.3, Santa Cruz 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
