Football Game Preview: Wynne Yellowjackets vs. Batesville Pioneers + Official Tickets

The Wynne Yellowjackets will venture away from home to take on the Batesville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wynne has given up an average of 33.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wynne's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Valley View on Friday. They were dealt a 38-0 defeat at the hands of the Blazers. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Blazers are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Batesville lost to Harding Academy on the road by a 31-14 margin on Friday.

Wynne will have to keep a close watch on Cole Bentz and Aryan Dale, a pair of players who had a big impact on Batesville's prior game. Bentz threw for 226 yards and two TDs, while Dale picked up 82 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Dale also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes.

Batesville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wynne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Wynne took their win against Batesville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 31-10 score. In that contest, the Yellowjackets amassed a halftime lead of 24-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
