League recap: James Island's Weekley delivers best pitching performance from past week

James Island's Tyler Weekley was the best pitcher in AAA Region VIII this week. He picked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Hilton Head had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Seahawks beat West 4-1.

The Trojans boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Weekley, who turned in nine Ks for James Island. He's first in the league with 40 total strikeouts.



Weekley struck out nine in the Trojans' 11-0 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson on March 27. He gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings of work.
