Volleyball Recap: Judson Comes Up Short

Judson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithson Valley Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Friday.

Smithson Valley can attribute much of their success to Berkley Bates, who had ten digs and two assists. Bates has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played. Anijah Pearson also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Judson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Smithson Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Judson has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Ellison on the 21st. As for Smithson Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hutto on the 21st.
