Basketball Recap: Aurora Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Aurora Central extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were outmatched by the Kent Denver Sun Devils and fell 89-49. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 85-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Aurora Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alejandro (Alex) Flores, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 20 points and three steals, and Deon Davis Jr, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and six assists. Flores is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Sohaieb Sufi-Mohamed also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

As for Kent Denver, their win bumped their record up to 5-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Aurora Central is ranked 118th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kent Denver to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Ash, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 21 points. Thanks to that strong game, Ash now owns an excellent 48.1% field goal percentage. Josiah Seyoum was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

Aurora Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-61 victory against Westminster on the 13th. As for Kent Denver, they have also already played their next game, an 87-74 defeat against Fruita Monument on the 13th.
