The East Dragons will take on the Springfield Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Monday just wasn't the day for East's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to Aquinas, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Springfield narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Coventry 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won three in a row.

Joey Klein spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bre Ruggiero was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Melaena Martin was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
