Preview: Calumet Christian Patriots vs. Quentin Road Christian
Calumet Christian is 4-0 against Quentin Road Christian since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Calumet Christian Patriots' road trip will continue as they head out to face Quentin Road Christian at 8:30 a.m. on February 8th. Calumet Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Calumet Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Mooseheart with points to spare, taking the game 77-63. Given Calumet Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 323rd in Indiana, while Mooseheart is ranked 661st in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Calumet Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brad Nymeyer, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Nymeyer hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
Meanwhile, Quentin Road Christian put another one in the bag last Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over Marquette Manor Baptist Academy. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Quentin Road Christian has scored all year.
Calumet Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-15. As for Quentin Road Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Calumet Christian against Quentin Road Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 89-21 win. With Calumet Christian ahead 52-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
