Baseball Recap: Central Aroostook Takes a Loss

Central Aroostook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Fort Fairfield Tigers, falling 11-3. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Central Aroostook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keith Giberson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Dayton Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Central Aroostook's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fort Fairfield, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Central Aroostook is set to square off against their familiar foe Southern Aroostook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fort Fairfield will take on rival Katahdin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2, the Cougars 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
