Softball Game Preview: Eagle Mustangs vs. Borah Lions

The Eagle Mustangs will head out to square off against the Borah Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Eagle's offense. They lost 14-0 to Capital on Thursday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Eagle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aly Vieira, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Borah came up short against Kuna on Thursday, falling 10-2. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olyvia Chalifoux was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Borah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Borah's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eagle has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Borah, though, as they've been averaging 11.9 hits. Given Eagle's sizable advantage in that area, the Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.
