Softball Game Preview: Arvin Bears vs. North Stars

For the second straight game, Arvin will face off against North. The Bears will head out to challenge the Stars at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Arvin has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while North will arrive with four straight wins.

Arvin lost 17-3 to North on Tuesday.

For North's part, they let Katherine Leask and Jazmarie Ramirez run wild. Leask went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Ramirez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Branson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

North pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Arvin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
