Preview: Immanuel Christian Warriors vs. Chelsea Academy Knights
Immanuel Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Chelsea Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Immanuel Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Thursday.
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Immanuel Christian was not quite Christ Chapel Academy's equal in the second half on Thursday. Immanuel Christian fell to Christ Chapel Academy 50-46.
The losing side was boosted by Cameron Blanding, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kobe Baldwin, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Chelsea Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Fairfax HomeSchool 81-31. While losing is never fun, Chelsea Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Fairfax HomeSchool is ranked 101st).
Immanuel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Chelsea Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.
Immanuel Christian ended up a good deal behind Chelsea Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 62-48. Thankfully for Immanuel Christian, Henry Wingate (who scored 24 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
