Baseball Recap: Santaluces Chiefs vs. Suncoast Chargers
Santaluces had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They lost 13-3 to the Suncoast Chargers. The Chiefs were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.
Abner Garcia made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That run was his first of the season.
Suncoast's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Suncoast's side, Charlie Straub looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Straub posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025.
