Bakersfield Christian had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They put the hurt on the Highland Scots with a sharp 9-1 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 15-3 victory last Wednesday.

Brycen Hurtado looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Bakersfield Christian got a big performance out of Kadyn Kirkley, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Kirkley has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of London Anderson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Bakersfield Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Highland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-4.

Coming up, Bakersfield Christian will take on Bishop Gorman in a tournament on Monday. As for Highland, they will venture away from home to square off against Hanford West at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
