Lehman took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Akins Eagles 8-6. The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Darren Roberson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Richard Saldana was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Akins dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehman is headed away from home for the first time to take on Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Akins, they will venture away from home to face off against San Marcos at 5:30 p.m. on February 14th.
