Recap: Calhoun Tigers vs. Central Lions
The Calhoun Tigers waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 win over Central. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Calhoun also won the last time the pair played last Thursday.
Among those leading the charge was Kamelia Hunter, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Layla Gary was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 8-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will take on Luverne at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Luverne presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Calhoun in Alabama (Luverne is ranked 160th, while Calhoun is ranked 374th). As for Central, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Ellwood Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Ellwood Christian has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14.
