             Two dominant  backs in  Jake Funderburg and  Coby Herman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Cathedral Catholic Dons and the La Costa Canyon Mavericks will dust off their jerseys to  challenge  one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 If Cathedral Catholic beats La Costa Canyon with 55  points on Friday, it's going to be the  squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two  contests with that exact score. Cathedral Catholic took their  matchup  last Friday with ease, bagging  a  55-6 victory over Point Loma. The  match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  55-0.

Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points per game. As for Cathedral Catholic, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record  this season.
 Everything came up roses for Cathedral Catholic against La Costa Canyon in their previous matchup  back in August of 2019, as the  team secured  a  42-9 win. In that  matchup, Cathedral Catholic amassed a halftime lead of  28-3, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
