Basketball Recap: Mckinnley Beard Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

There's no place like home for Andrew Jackson Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 45-40 victory over the Dorchester Academy Raiders on Tuesday. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 48-30 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Andrew Jackson Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKinnley Beard led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Beard is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Bella Carrigg was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Andrew Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Dorchester Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Andrew Jackson Academy will head out to take on Colleton Prep Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dorchester Academy, they will take on Calhoun Academy at 6:10 p.m. on Friday.
