Softball Recap: Mora Mustangs vs. Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars

The third road match was the charm for Mora, as they earned their first away victory of the season. Everything went their way against the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-2 win. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 19-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aubrey Athey was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Mora got a massive performance out of Rhiannon Ashworth, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Ashworth also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jennae Szucs, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Mora was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hinckley-Finlayson only posted a batting average of .296.
