Paxton extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 8-1. They claimed a resounding 71-42 victory over the Freeport Bulldogs. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Kenzie Lassiter had another great game (as she tends to do), going 11-for-20 on her way to 25 points and five rebounds. Those 25 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marley McClelland, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Paxton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

As for Freeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Freeport saw an underclassman step up: freshman Athiei Dhal dropped a double-double with 31 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 73.8% of the Bulldogs' points, marking the seventh time in a row Dhal has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Coming up, Paxton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freeport, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge North Bay Haven Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
