Skyline had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Issaquah Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-99) Skyline actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 12-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Carly Maginnis paced Skyline's offense, picking up 18 kills. Maginnis got some help from Piper Hawryluk and her 37 assists. Maginnis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Issaquah's loss came despite strong showings from Bryn Walcott and Molly Yoshino. Walcott hit 52.6% for 40 kills and 13 digs and one block, while Yoshino had 18 digs, 17 kills, and three aces. Walcott has been hot for a while, having posted seven or more kills the last 53 times she's played.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 18-8-3. As for Issaquah, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Skyline has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lake Stevens on the 15th. As for Issaquah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Emerald Ridge on the 21st.
