Recap: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. Van Buren County Eagles

The Jackson County Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 62-61 win over Van Buren County. The win was familiar territory for Jackson County who now have five in a row.

It was another big night for Erin Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jalynn Meadows was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Jackson County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Van Buren County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-10 record last season and are now at 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Macon County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. Van Buren County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bledsoe County at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Bledsoe County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
