Basketball Recap: Aubrey Rogers Comes Up Short

Aubrey Rogers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Naples Golden Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-82 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Aubrey Rogers still got an impressive performance from Luke Johnson, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Spencer Beavis, who had nine points.

Aubrey Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Naples, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aubrey Rogers will head out to challenge South Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Naples, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
