Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Copley Indians by a score of 48-46. The Rough Riders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Jaden Dennison, who went 9 of 21 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Dennison has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryan Slocum, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Copley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will host Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three games. As for Copley, they will welcome Cuyahoga Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
