Soccer Game Preview: Norwalk vs. Independence

The Norwalk Warriors will face off against the Independence Mustangs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Norwalk is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: North Scott, who was ranked eighth at the time (Norwalk was ranked sixth). Neither the Warriors nor the Lancers could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Norwalk's loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Friday. Independence came up short against Dallas Center-Grimes, falling 6-0.

With that draw, Norwalk's record moves to 6-1-1. As for Independence, they now have a losing record of 3-4-2.
