Softball Recap: Harborfields' Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Harborfields's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Amityville Memorial Warriors a 17-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tornadoes as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Harborfields got a great performance from Lily Thompsett as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Christiana Ebe was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Riaz, who went 1-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Harborfields kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Amityville Memorial, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Harborfields does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amityville Memorial, they will take on Hauppauge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
