Softball Recap: Giddings Gets the Win

Giddings came out on top against C.H. Yoe on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Buffaloes took their contest against the Yoemen 9-5. The Buffaloes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yoemen, too.

Maggie Page was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (two). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Emma Short and Ella Albrecht did most of the damage at the plate: Short went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI, while Albrecht went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jenna Jewell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Giddings' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for C.H. Yoe, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Giddings will challenge Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for C.H. Yoe, they will be taking part in a tournament against Milano at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
