Hernandez made his presence known in Briggs' 5-2 defeat
Briggs came up short on Monday despite Brailyn Hernandez delivering his best game to date. Independence had no answer to Hernandez as he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk).
Hernandez and Briggs will head out on the road to square off against Africentric Early College at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Briggs is 10-0 against Africentric Early College going back to April of 2016, a lead they'll look to extend.
