Preview: South Panola Tigers vs. Palmer Dragons
South Panola has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Palmer Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, South Panola might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Center Hill an easy 72-52 victory. South Panola has struggled against Center Hill recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cameron Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Demartric Houston, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Palmer unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-45 bruising from West Tallahatchie. While losing is never fun, Palmer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while West Tallahatchie is ranked 101st).
South Panola has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Palmer, they bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
