Basketball Game Preview: Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons vs. Carrollwood Day Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons will head out on the road to face off against the Carrollwood Day Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charlotte has four straight wins, Carrollwood Day has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Charlotte didn't have too much trouble with Unicoi County as they won 50-34. Given the Fightin' Tarpons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 69th in Florida, while the Blue Devils are ranked 212th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carrollwood Day played against Sports Leadership & Management and lost via forfeit.

Charlotte's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Carrollwood Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Charlotte took their win against Carrollwood Day in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 53-33. Will Charlotte repeat their success, or does Carrollwood Day have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
