Basketball Recap: Larned Comes Up Short

After flying high against Nickerson last Tuesday, Larned came back down to earth. The matchup between the Larned Indians and the Halstead Dragons didn't end well, with the Larned Indians falling 47-31. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Larned's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Halstead, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0-1.

Larned will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. John. St. John's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Larned's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Halstead, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Abilene at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
