Softball Recap: Alonso Takes a Loss

Alonso lost against Steinbrenner last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ravens fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Laine Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Sturgis, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Alonso's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Steinbrenner, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Alonso will head out on the road to challenge Sickles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gryphons have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Steinbrenner, they will welcome Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Warriors have won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Wolves won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
