Softball Recap: Marianna Comes Up Short

Marianna had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it eight. They came up short against Liberty County, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Liberty County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

As for Liberty County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Liberty County's part, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Walker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Walker posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Victoria Proulx, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Marianna didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-15 victory against Sneads on the 17th. As for Liberty County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Holmes County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
