Baseball Game Preview: El Capitan Vaqueros vs. Maranatha Christian Eagles

The El Capitan Vaqueros will be taking part in a tournament against the Maranatha Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for El Capitan and 11 for Maranatha Christian dating back to last season.

El Capitan's tournament run continued when they took on El Camino on Tuesday. The Vaqueros fell 5-2 to the Wildcats.

El Capitan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Vera, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Maranatha Christian came up short against Coronado on Tuesday, falling 10-4.

Jack Kelly and Shane Piester did some serious damage despite the final result: Kelly went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Piester went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Cody Baltgalvis was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Maranatha Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for El Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
