Softball Game Preview: Culver City Centaurs vs. Santa Monica Vikings

For the second straight game, Culver City will face off against Santa Monica. The Centaurs will host the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Culver City has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Culver City is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Santa Monica just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the Vikings. The Centaurs were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the six contests prior), but the Vikings' pitchers proved too tough.

Culver City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miami McRae, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Santa Monica's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Culver City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
