Basketball Recap: Robert Scott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Guilford over Atkins

Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atkins Camels. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Camels earlier this season, when they won 54-48.

Southern Guilford lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Robert Scott, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Thornwell, who scored 14 points.

Southern Guilford's record is now 3-15. As for Atkins, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Guilford will challenge Ben L. Smith at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Guilford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. As for Atkins, they will take on Eastern Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atkins is facing Eastern Guilford at the right time seeing as Eastern Guilford is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
