Volleyball Recap: Uniontown's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Uniontown waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Central Heights Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since September 16th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Uniontown got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, Central Heights saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophee Lankard had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Lankard.

Uniontown's victory bumped their record up to 10-16-1. As for Central Heights, their loss ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 10-15.

Coincidentally, Uniontown and Central Heights will both be playing Southern Coffey County the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Titans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
