Recap: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. JV Opponent
The Fort Hancock Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past JV Opponent 50-29. Winning may never get old, but Fort Hancock sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Fort Hancock had a senior duo take command as Alessandra Jimenez dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals and Jackeline Arriaga scored 25 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jimenez has scored at least 25% of Fort Hancock's points.
Fort Hancock is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for JV Opponent, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Hancock will face off against Patterson Institute at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Patterson Institute's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Fort Hancock's offense will have their work cut out for Fort Hancock. JV Opponent will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Miami Valley at 4:30 p.m. on February 10th.
