Basketball Recap: Warren Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Rylee Arnold and Sarah Pettey

Warren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alexander Spartans. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 21-12 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Warren had strong showings from Sarah Pettey, who posted 11 points, and Rylee Arnold, who had 11 points. Pettey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Warren's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Alexander, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Warren does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alexander, they will host Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Alexander's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Southeastern has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
