Softball Game Preview: Valley Vista Monsoon vs. Skyline Coyotes

The Valley Vista Monsoon will take on the Skyline Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Valley Vista has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Valley Vista's offense. They came up short against West Point on Thursday, falling 19-0. The Monsoon's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Skyline suffered their closest loss since March 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Westwood by a score of 13-11. The defeat continues a trend for the Coyotes in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kailey Meyer and Jordan Seiuli did some serious damage despite the final result: Meyer scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Seiuli scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Valley Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Valley Vista beat Skyline 21-18 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Monsoon repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
