Preview: Latta Vikings vs. Green Sea Floyds Trojans
Latta is 5-0 against Green Sea Floyds since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Latta Vikings will be playing at home against the Green Sea Floyds Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Latta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Latta can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game. They snuck past Lamar with a 51-45 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Latta has managed all season.
Amir Rogers was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Mcrae, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Green Sea Floyds lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-31 walloping at the hands of Hannah-Pamplico. Green Sea Floyds has struggled against Hannah-Pamplico recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Latta's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Green Sea Floyds, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Latta didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Green Sea Floyds in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. Will Latta repeat their success, or does Green Sea Floyds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
