Recap: Ysleta Indians vs. Mountain View Lobos
The Ysleta Indians lost against the Mountain View Lobos back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ysleta had to suffer through a rough 51-20 loss at the hands of Mountain View. Ysleta has struggled against Mountain View recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bresais Escalante, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Escalante has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Salas, who scored 10 points.
Ysleta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Mountain View, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Ysleta will head out on the road to face off against Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Mountain View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
