Softball Game Preview: Liberty Union Lions vs. Granville Blue Aces

The Liberty Union Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Granville Blue Aces at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Union will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Liberty Union barely beat Fairfield Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Granville made easy work of Zanesville on Monday and carried off a 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Aces in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Liberty Union pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Granville, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Liberty Union might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from Granville in their previous meeting back in May of 2018. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
