The Klamath Union Pelicans will be taking part in a tournament against the Crook County Cowboys at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Klamath Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Crook County will be up against a hot Klamath Union squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Klamath Union blew past Neah-Kah-Nie 22-7 on Wednesday. While the Pelicans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Reese Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Pj Safford was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Ryan Glidden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Klamath Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Crook County came up short against Tillamook on Saturday and fell 9-6.

Klamath Union's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Crook County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
