Basketball Recap: Brookland Has No Trouble Against Pocahontas

Brookland's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Pocahontas Redskins as the Brookland Bearcats made off with a 60-36 win. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Redskins are ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brookland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Pocahontas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookland will take on Blytheville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pocahontas, they will face off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Highland will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pocahontas surely won't give up without a fight.
