Basketball Recap: Lakeside Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lakeside came into Saturday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Hawks are ranked 98th).

Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Mountlake Terrace, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

When Lakeside and Mountlake Terrace next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lakeside will try to stop Ballard's three-game winning streak when the meet at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Mountlake Terrace will take on Edmonds-Woodway and their nine-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
