Stanwood suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Stanwood Spartans vs. Edmonds-Woodway Warriors

The Stanwood Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 73-60 to Edmonds-Woodway. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Edmonds-Woodway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dj Karl, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was William Alseth, who scored 17 points.

Stanwood's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Edmonds-Woodway, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.

Stanwood will head out on the road to face off against Anacortes at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Anacortes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 228 points over their last three matchups. Edmonds-Woodway will be home for the holidays to greet Everett at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Everett is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
